As New Jersey reopens, the COVID-19 regulations & rules regarding funeral services are being relaxed. Funeral homes can now allow up to 50 people inside, with the following restrictions:

• Only one service is allowed in the funeral home at a time
• Masks or face coverings must be worn by employees, family members and visitors at all times
• A six-foot distance must be maintained between groups of people from the same household

At the Prout Funeral Home, we take every precaution to provide our families with a clean and safe environment- our parlors are thoroughly disinfected after every viewing or service and there are hand sanitizing stations throughout the building. However, if you are feeling under the weather, please stay home- we trust that the family will understand.

Family and friends who cannot be physically present for a service at the funeral home can still be included– they may join in via video livestream or by phone. Guests can also view video tributes and leave condolences on individual obituary pages or call them in to (973) 239-2060 and we will pass the messages along to the family.

We will continue to work with your family, clergy, cemeteries, etc. as we have always done to provide a meaningful service.
